  2. One-Day Competition on Saturday, February 1, 2014.

  3. Optional Setup, Judging, Robot Inspection, and Practice on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. .

  4. Robotics Association at Embry-Riddle Open House on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.  Join the Robotics Association in the Lehman Engineering Center Atrium for snacks and soft drinks, and tours of the engineering labs.

  5. Join the fun by watching the action on our ustream.tv broadcast starting at 10:00 a.m.:  stream.flfirst.org  Some Apple computers running the Safari web browser have trouble watching videos on ustream.tv.  Try the Firefox web browser if Safari doesn't work.

  1. Tournament Host: Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach.

  2. Competition Registration Fee is $150.

  3. Team Participation is by invitation only based on their performance in the Florida League play system.

  4. Volunteers submit their role request through the FIRST Volunteer Information Matching System (VIMS) located here: my.usfirst.org/FIRSTPortal/Login/VIMS_Login.aspx Volunteers may register for the Florida Championship starting October 1, 2013.  Volunteers will receive their assignment confirmations in late-December, 2013 through mid-January, 2014.

Best Western Aku Tiki Inn located at 2225 South Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, FL is offering a $69 (plus tax) group rate for the event.  Rate includes daily Hot Breakfast Buffet 7:00am-10:00am, daily local newspaper, free local phone calls, free Wi-Fi high speed internet access in all guest rooms, free parking, and fresh baked cookies in lobby each morning.   1. January 15th update: All of the double bed rooms at the Hampton Inn have been reserved. The Hampton Inn Daytona Beach Speedway is offering a $79.00 (plus tax) group rate for the event.  Call the hotel at (386) 257-4030 and ask for the “Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University” group rate.  The hotel is located at 1715 W. International Speedway Blvd, Daytona Beach, FL  32114.  Room reservations can be cancelled without a financial penalty up to one week prior to the check-in day.

            3:15 p.m.    Alliance Selection for Elimination Matches

            4:00 p.m.    Elimination Matches begin

            5:30 p.m.    Awards Ceremony

            6:00 p.m.    Tournament Ends


  1. There is no spectator admission fee for the FTC Florida Championship and it is open to the public.  Spectators that want to see the robots up-close in the pit area should bring their own safety glasses and wear closed toed shoes as they are both required in the pit area to comply with FIRST safety rules.  Safety glasses and closed toed shoes are not required to watch robot matches from the viewing area in the arena.
